Hi everyone, MQTT is a very important protocol in IoT and IIoT and could be a great thing if we could test our projects using just Siemens PLCSim Advanced and without a real PLC. So I tested if we could do some comunication with a Mosquitto Broker and Node-red with a little Dashboard and it worked quite well So finally we could publish data from de Simulated PLC and subscribe the PLC to data from Node-red and from Internet. #3 Siemens Logo with Node-red

Today I've been testing how to comunicate a Siemens Logo programable relay with Node-red. What is a programmable relay? I'll dare to say that we can consider programmable relays very similar to PLC's, maybe less memory, less speed, less I/O, however, a lot of preconfigured functions and much better price for most applications we have to make. What you can do with Logo and Nodered?  Once you can monitor and control Logo variables in Node-red you can implement IIOT very easily. You could make a web dashboard, save the variables is a database, send emails, create alarms with Telegram and a lot of things more. It's a very interesting subject to work more about...

#2 OPC-UA server / client with Node-red

I've been testing how to implement a OPC-UA server / client with Node-red What's an OPC-UA server?  Usually, it's a server that let you to read tags from different PLC's, it doesn't matter PLC brand, and then, it serves this tags to other systems like other PLC's, Scada, Computer systems (SAP, ERP...), Databases,... In IIOT (Industrial Internet of Things) applications it's a really good idea to use a hardware that let you to implement and OPC-UA server. Actually, you can use propietary systems like WEINTEK, WAGO, Weidmuller,... or simply use a Raspberry Pi to do so, like it's shown in this video: So, I've simulated a Modbus server (it would be our PLC) and, after this, Node-red's read the tags with a Modbus client and it has written the tags to the OPC-UA Server. Later on, I've read these tags with a OPC-UA Softwate (UaExpert) and, with a Node-red OPC-UA Client which has published them in a Node-red Dashboard. ...
